My Current Skincare Routine
It's taken me a while to perfect my skin care products but I have finally found a routine that works for me and my skin. I have very spot prone skin so if I miss skin care I will break out mainly on my forehead and chin. I have combination skin but lately I feel more oily than dry, that might just be to do with the hot weather we've been having in the UK lately.
I start my day by using the St Ives Blemish Fighting Scrub|£4.19, this scrub doesn't irritate my skin but still gets deep into my pores. The scent of this scrub is amazing, it makes me feel energised for the day ahead. I then pat my face dry and apply the Botanics Hydrating Day Cream|£4.99/Current sale price £2.49. The Botanics range is Boots own brand and I came across it in a free gift box from boots. I started by picking up one or two items and now I own nearly the whole Botanics All Bright range. They have ranges for different skin types and ages and they are very reasonably priced and more often than not, on sale.
If I've worn makeup throughout the day I will take that off with a cleansing wipe, my favourite ones are the Simple cleaning wipes but I'm not fussy I pick up whatever is on sale usually. I'll take off my eye makeup with the Botanics Eye Makeup Remover|£3.99/Current sale price £1.99. This product removes my eye makeup with ease, I just put it on a cotton pad and rub away my makeup. If I feel like I still have makeup of my face I use the Sanctuary Spa Foaming Micellar Water|£8 (I wait until this is on sale for about £5 and pick up a few). I love the foaming aspect to this, it really makes me feel like its working into my skin and getting the makeup I may have missed.
In the evening I usually pop on a face mask, my two current favourites are the L'Oreal Pure Clay Collection£7.99/Introductory price of £5 and the Body Shop Tea Tree 3 in 1 Wash, Scrub and Mask|£8. I take this 10-15 minutes of my day just to relax either in the bath or in my room. I was these off with hot water and a flannel and then pat my face dry.
Once my face is fully dried I go back in with the Sanctuary Spa Foaming Micellar Water to make sure I haven't left any little bits settle into my skin. I then go in with the Botanics Cleansing Toner on a cotton pad. This step is for when you think your face is clean because this toner picks up things on your face that you couldn't see yourself. This step makes me feel truly clean and my face is now as bare as it gets.
Before I go to sleep I massage some Botanics Radiance Concentrate Serum|£6.99/Current sale price £3.49. A little of this goes a long way, one or two drops hydrates my whole face ready to go to bed. I like to keep my face hydrated through the night so I don't wake up with a terribly dry face.
